Electronic tags will be embedded in all the tickets that will be printed. The event date and a unique marker will be encrypted and stored on the tag. On the event day, handheld smartcard readers will be stationed at the entrances to verify the authenticity of tickets before bearers are allowed to enter.
The handheld readers will record the number of tickets that have been verified. It will be possible to view these reports directly from the devices in real-time.
This technology will go a long way to reduce losses resulting from ticket duplication. It will now be possible to issue advanced ticket without having to worry about the risks associated with it.
The system can be extended to include Rfid gates.
